Persian House

Persian House at 1026 SW Morrison between SW 10th and 11th Avenues features Middle Eastern cuisine with Mediterranean influence. Walls are decorated with beautiful framed Persian rugs. Lighting and design provide an ambiance that is warm, quiet, and cozy.

By recommendation from our waitress, I ordered the Fessenjan, which is breast of chicken simmered in a sweet and sour sauce made from pomegranate and finely crushed walnuts. The unusual flavor was outstanding. Sir Braver enjoyed Mediterranean Chicken which again was a breast of chicken but with sauce made from basil, garlic, red pepper, zesty orange, fennel, black olives, and white wine. Both entrees were served with rice and a few vegetables, and both were delicious.

Our waitress darted about busily tending to guests. The food, however, was slow to arrive. Perhaps an appetizer would have made the wait a bit easier. Nevertheless, different and delicious, Persian House is a wonderful lunch or dinner choice.
