On our way out this afternoon, we passed two ladies in a tête-à-tête. They had surrounded themselves with carpet samples that were arranged neatly in long rows against both walls lining the corridor and extending down the hallway a fair distance. There were perhaps 2 dozen samples, give or take a few, all in various shades of brown. There was some variation of texture. Most of the samples, with few exceptions, were in the dark brown to very dark brown spectrum. Most were solid although one or two were patterned.
The ladies told me that they were preparing recommendations or bids or something for the building. Their goal, they affirmed, is to “brighten up the [windowless] halls.”
Dark brown carpeting should do it.
