Entry doors are governed by condo law. The bylaws state: “No doormats or decorations of any kind may be placed on or near the entry doors of the Primary Units.” With the upcoming decorating of common areas, entry doors now have the Board’s attention.
In addition to the three carpet selections and various paint selections for walls, ceilings, and trim, entry doors will be painted the color “slate.” In preparation, all signs, nails, plaques, doorbells, doorknockers, and other adornments must be removed.
The board recorded 16 units in violation of bylaws with entry door ornamentation, most of which have been boldly in place for years. Soon each will be rewarded for their individuality with written notices of their offense(s). Some patching may be required and the HOA will take care of that, but offending unit owners may be billed accordingly.
